Lisa Gleim-Jonas’ brilliantly painted pastels of dogs jumping and swimming are a delight to behold. The artist masters the canine form as well as reflections in the water. A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Lisa Gleim-Jonas is from a long line of portrait painters. Ms. Gleim-Jonas began painting pets in 2001 after the loss of her Golden Retriever, Bonnie. Her dog drawings have been published in the book Strokes of Genius: the Best of Drawing.
Karen, a life-long, self-taught artist, first sketched her own Golden Retriever in 1987, and friends immediately started asking her to do theirs. Soon, requests for childrenʼs portraits came, and Karen became especially enamored with painting kids and dogs together ~ depicting that bond, those connections that we treasure always.
