Dog & Horse Fine Art will have an exhibition of MINIATURES by Nancy Van Meter, Beth de Loiselle, Paul Eaton and small watercolors by Nancy Pellatt. Miniatures are an art form which has been in existence prior to the 15th century. The resurgence in popularity started in the late 19th century in England and has expanded worldwide. Of foremost importance in contemporary miniature art are highly skilled and painstaking techniques used by the artist. The paintings draw the viewer's eye deeper into the work and amaze with the gem-like details of the tiny treasure.

Nancy Van Meter is a 2013 graduate of the acclaimed Schuler School of Fine Arts where students learn techniques of classical realism. After a four year prescribed course of full time study, Nancy was honored to attend a fifth year on full scholarship. Before Schuler, Nancy studied with photographer and sculptor William Christenberry at the Corcoran College of Art in Washington DC. Eight of her cyanotype photograms are included in the permanent collection of the Corcoran Gallery of Art collection of photography and media arts.

Also exhibiting will be Beth de Loiselle who in 2001 was awarded the Timothy Dill scholarship allowing her to study at the Schuler School of Fine Arts. She is proficient in the art of scratchboard and now specializes in animal portraits and floral paintings. Beth is currently teaching privately, at the Schuler School of Fine Arts and Mitchell School of Fine Arts. Beth has received national and international awards, and has exhibited paintings in New York, Paris and London.

Paul Eaton was born in London 1955 and soon moved to the countryside in the Surrey Hills. This is where his love of wildlife started and has enabled him to produce sculpture with absolute finite detail. Paul carves his original sculptures from wax, which are then cast in either sold bronze or silver. He is the Vice President of the Royal Miniature Society, Full Member of the Miniature Painters, Gravers & Sculptors Society of Washington DC, and Member of Miniature Artists of America as well as a professional Goldsmith and Silversmith. Paul Eaton has been a recipient of many first place awards in exhibitions around the world.

Local artist, Nancy Pellatt's refreshingly pragmatic and classical renditions of animals have gained her national publicity. Nancy's work hangs in many private collections nationally and in Europe, as well as having appeared in numerous art exhibits throughout the country. Nancy Pellatt is a Full Member of The Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club; an Associate member of Oil Painters of America and is fortunate to have studied with Jean Bowman and Sam Savitt, both founding members of the American Academy of Equine Art.

We hope that you will be able to come by and marvel at the exhibition this summer!
