Diane Ritz is a self-taught artist as well as an accomplished FEI dressage rider. Diane’s daily interaction with horses shapes her art. Her paintings hone in on the emotion and connection that horses represent to her. The use of a fairly muted color palette allows the viewer to focus on the feeling of each painting and interpret it for themselves. Her works have simple titles that convey the mood of each piece. Diane spends most of her time teaching, training and competing horses at the highest level of the sport. After taking art lessons with Lee Baumgarten in Charlotte, N.C., Diane was able to marry her love of horses and painting.
