Description

Robert Clarke studied at St. Martins School of Art in London, then taught Life-Drawing at Barnfield College, Luten. His canine pieces, usually painted with a grey background and the head popping up on the canvas, are known for capturing the essence of the dog’s playfulness and attitude. He has done many celebrity commissions, the latest being Kate Moss’s dog Archie, and Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas' Dachsund, a testament to the effectiveness, beauty, and overall appeal of his work. "I love painting dogs," Robert says, "I love their character, their humor, their absolute joy of being loved. I have had many happy clients. I try to capture each dog in his own way … with his own noble sense of humor."
