Yvonne Sovereign began drawing and painting at a very young age. In high school she majored in fine arts, attended summer classes at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC and majored in fine art at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. She is a registered artist with the AKC Museum of the Dog in St. Louis, MO and has exhibited in their Artist’s Registry Exhibitions. She has been accepted in the juried show, Art Show at the Dog Show, Wichita, KS for a number of years since it’s inception where she has won numerous awards. She has also received awards at the Watercolor Society of NC regional show and the Sanford Brush and Palette show, Sanford, NC, including several Best’s in Show. She has recently exhibited at the Vineland Gallery in Southern Pines, NC. She has also been included in an article on dog artists in Dogs in Review magazine. Yvonne lives in Sanford, NC. She has a recently built studio at her home, partially funded by a grant from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. She also travels to dog shows where she sells and exhibits per paintings and her line of limited and open edition dog prints.
