Dog and Horse Fine Art will host a reception 6:00 – 8:30 p.m., Friday, February 15, featuring miniature jewelry and sculpture by BURNETT DE LOISELLE and PAUL EATON, VPRMS, MAA, as well as honoring beloved Hounds and their contribution to family sports. Miniature artist Beth de Loiselle’s oils for the collection will include interchangeable horse/hound miniatures. The canine guests will be handled by the MASTERS OF THE FOXHOUNDS ASSOCIATIONOF AMERICA, in full livery. The gallery will also have sporting art created for the occasion by such artists as BETH CARLSON, LARRY WHEELER AND JOSEPH SULKOWSKI. A percentage of sales of sporting art will benefit the Masters of Foxhounds of America Foundation.*
Burnett de Loiselle custom jewelry combines silver- and goldsmithing by SUSAN BURNETT with BETH DE LOISELLE’s miniature oil paintings. Each item, whether a pendant or cuff bracelet, is custom made for the client. Pendants can be worn on chains, on leather, or with pearls or stone beads.
Paul Eaton, a British silversmith, goldsmith and sculptor that specializes in sporting art, will show Beth de Loiselle oil miniatures in his jewelry, his dog charms in gold or sterling silver and miniature dog, horse and fox sculptures, which he casts in bronze or sterling silver.
Susan Smith Burnett’s custom jewelry designs have their roots in her successful career in the fashion industry. A much photographed Ford Model in New York and Paris, Susan went on to study gold- and silversmithing at New York’s renowned Jewelry Arts Institute, where she worked with the most celebrated masters of the art.
Beth de Loiselle studied Old Masters’ fundamentals at The Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore, where she was a recipient of the Timothy Dill scholarship. She developed her own technique for paintings and miniature art, an art form which dates back to medieval scribes. Presently at the Schuler School Beth teaches animal art, floral oil painting and the art of miniatures. Beth has exhibited paintings in New York, Paris and London. She has received international awards and has international collectors.
Paul Eaton finishes each piece of jewelry and sculpture by hand, ensuring that each is unique. The two most prestigious sets of initials that Paul is honored with are Vice President for Sculpture for The Royal Miniature Society (VPRMS) and Miniature Artist of America (MAA).
The evening will be sponsored by The Local Palate Magazine and the Masters of the Foxhounds Association of America.
*The Masters of Foxhounds of America Foundation will have a booth at Brittlebank Park during the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition where they will raise awareness for conservation and preservation, canine health, as well as countryside sports and traditions.
