Roger Henry
Roger Henry is a Los Angeles-based artist with an international clientele, including families of movers and shakers in the LA film industry and collectors in Europe, South America, Australia and Hong Kong. He studied art at the University of Kansas, his home state, and received an honors award in Art History, a special mention at the International Design Conference in Aspen, Colo., in
1986 and a scholarship to study abroad in France in 1987. Originally Henry was an art director for
film and television in Los Angeles. His film background has influenced his work as a full-time fine artist. Henry takes as much time as possible getting to know his subjects and exploring possible settings and the effect of light throughout the day. Henry’s paintings impress with his realistic and often vibrant handling of his subjects. His animals as well as humans have an intense quality. Hair, leaves and fabric come to life with his brush strokes and his use of color and illumination.
